| As a main base of laboratory animal science and comparative medical science in China, one of our emphases is to exploit laboratory animal resources and develop experimental disease models. By resource collection of laboratory animals in China, identification and filing for spontaneously-mutated new strains, studies on breeding and domestication of wild animals valuable to be exploited as laboratory animals, and development of numbers of gene-engineering disease animal models, the Institute of Laboratory Animal Science has established the most complete resource of human disease animal models in China in respects of Alzhermer¡¯s disease, Parkinson¡¯s disease, cardiac diseases, and hypertension. |
